Viodi View Newsletter - September 6th, 2006 Marketing Idea for Independent TelcosBy Ken Pyle A movie like Awakening is a great way to hold a community event that will differentiate your service from the competition. One way to do this might be to sponsor something with a local Church. In my case, when I watched Awakening, I did so with a group from Church. We had a brief discussion after the movie. Awakening has study materials that could help facilitate a small group discussion. Another approach would be to work with a local theater owner to create an “event” at the local theater. Again, this is an event that could be promoted. Perhaps the portion of the “box office” proceeds could be donated to a micro-finance organization. For those telcos that have a movie review program, this could be a great topic for a review. Finally, this film could be put onto your local content
channel or on your on-demand system. The distributor will gladly license
it for this sort of application. The contact person to license this film
is Erik Gudris, [email protected] or Better yet, contact me first to determine if we can get
a critical number of telcos to license this film, which could reduce the
cost. My contact is 408 551 0320. Some archived articles at Club Viodi include:
