Call for Photos and Videos from Independents Involved with FRED:

To those who are not familiar with FRED, the above title might make it sound like we are looking for blackmail material on some poor sap named Fred. Actually, FRED is an acronym for the Foundation for Rural Education and Development and isn’t a person at all. It is affiliated, however, with OPASTCO and its members and has a mission to promote activities that improve rural educational, social, and economic conditions.
Viodi, LLC is producing a promotional video for FRED. Melissa Korzuch, Director of FRED, can be contacted for the details and will explain how to submit materials. The materials will include videos, articles and photographs showing evidence of good works enabled by a FRED grant. These materials will be compiled into a short two to three minute video to debut at OPASTCO’s summer convention.
The objective of this video is to highlight and promote the good works facilitated by the over $180,000 in scholarships and grants awarded each year to rural students, residents, and communities by FRED. A Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1992 and is now worth over $1 million. Corporate sponsors provide the funding for FRED awards and grants that recognize outstanding rural teachers and communities.
