Posted 12/18/06 - This is a brief audio from a recent conference where Clearchannel explains their strategy for marrying web and radio content. Press the triangle to listen to the audio. It is pretty noisy, due to the recording method.

Interesting comment from Clearchannel (the huge advertising and radio station company) that they consider themselves content creators. To hear the approximately 4 minute talk, click on this link:

Test Drive Wednesday is a show that Clearchannel has where average people take a drive with a local radio personality and they report on it on the radio. They get tens of thousands of people participating in contests to see who will be the lucky one to do the test drive. Seems like some variation of this could work with local auto dealers.

Clearchannel also has a Google Search Engine on their web site so that way people don't leave their web site to do a search. They actually have cut down their ad inventory to make it less cluttered for advertisers.

One of the things they are doing is producing smaller spots, some as little as 1 seconds. You ask what can be played in a second? How about the McDonalds jingle or a portion of the jingle. A stinger is another way of branding - ( e.g. the tones that play at the start of Sprint's commercials). Note, good idea to have a company stinger.

He suggested these 1 or 2 second spots are intros to long play sets and the the play set is followed by a 15 second commercial for the sponsor.
