Evergreen Content - Or Good Values Are Always In

By Ken Pyle, ken.pyle@viodi.com, Managing Editor, Viodi View

Ed Carlstone is a name probably very few of the Viodi View readers will recognize. But, your children or grand children may recognize his work as the Executive Producer of the Quigley video series. These series of children Christian videos have sold more than 2 million copies and have been translated into 5 languages.

In this video interview, we talk to Carlstone about the challenges faced by both independent producers and niche networks, as well as the opportunities afforded by new distribution technologies. This interview will be of interest to any independent telco that is considering or are already providing video services, as Carlstone's challenges are very similar to the ones faced by independent telcos as they try to assemble competitive service offerings.

Thanks to Packet8 for powering this video.

Carlstone has the perfect background for the creation and promotion of content, as he was the founder of Television Associates (TVA); a video production company that was well known in the Silicon Valley for the production of hundreds of corporate videos, as well as for the George Foreman infomercials. Ed also wears another hat as Chief Operations Officer of the Church Communications Network (CCN). CCN is a niche satellite network with a target audience of more than 200,000 churches.
